Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at Pearson Elementary. This year as a school district we are going to Unlock Your Dreams. We are looking forward to an exciting year filled with positive attitudes, building relationships, and high levels of learning. Pearson Elementary Met Standard and earned TWO Distinctions from the Texas Education Agency. This rating comes from the Texas Education Agency based on the STAAR scores from 2016. We will continue our hard work and dedication to our students to make sure they are experiencing success at school on a daily basis.
Our Got College? Days will continue for the fifth year under to the direction of our counselor, Mrs. Candelaria. We are hoping to continue our college field trips to South Texas College (STC), The University of Pan American (UTPA), and Texas A&M in Kingsville. It is one of our goals to ensure that our third, fourth, and fifth grade students will continue to experience these colleges this year. We want to ensure that all of our students are college and career ready when they graduate from high school.
Also, our Family Literacy Events will continue each six weeks. The amount of reading at Pearson Elementary is on the rise. We are promoting reading for life. In addition, our Pearson Elementary Robotics Team "The Microbots" with continue this school year. Also, only at Pearson Elementary is our UTRGV Girls Start Program for fourth and fifth grade girls interested in STEM classes.
Every day we strive to provide the best instruction for all of our students. Together we can and will make a difference in the lives of each and every child. Mission CISD and Pearson Elementary are Leading the Way. We are the place to be and the place to stay!! We will Be Significant. We will Unlock Your Dreams!!
Remember to Just Believe!

GirlStart Showcase at Pearson Elementary

Pearson Elementary held its 3rd annual GirlStart Showcase, a program to get girls interested in STEM related fields, on 11/13/2017. During their weekly meetings, the GirlStart program covered a different science TEK and how the TEK could be used in real world applications. Mrs. R. Leal, along with female students from UTRGV with STEM related fields of study, held the event after school. Students set up different stations and taught their parents what they learned during the semester. In attendance were parents, community members, and the coordinator of GirlStart, Itzel Gutierrez.
