Principal's Message

Dear Pearson Elementary Family,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year.  It is with great pride that I continue to serve you as the proud principal of Pearson Elementary.   As we start another fabulous year at Pearson Elementary, we are committed in making this and every year a safe and productive year for every student, staff member, and family. We continue to embrace the Mission CISD goals of Attendance, Academic Achievement, and following the Service Delivery Model. With your continued support, we can achieve each goal daily.

Attendance at Pearson Elementary is important for the success of our students.  Making sure that your children are at school every day will help in providing a solid foundation of learning.  Lessons lost can never fully be replaced; thus our strong emphasis on attendance daily. The Pearson Prize Patrol will be out in full force the entire school year.  Prizes awarded to one student per class when we attain a 98% or better in attendance for the day. We also have two Xboxes to raffle when we have day of 100% attendance.

Academic achievement is a goal for all of our students. Our focus is to prepare our students to thrive in their post-secondary years be it in a college/ university, in the military, or in a vocational field. Each day we work hard to ensure your children receive the best instruction possible.

Pearson Elementary offers a number of extracurricular activities, throughout the school year, and encourage our students to explore them.  UIL, Robotics, Destination Imagination, Girlstart, Trendsetters, and The Texas Bluebonnet Team are some of our most popular choices.  In addition, we pride ourselves in our athletic program being the best.  We hold current and past championships in football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track.

Finally, we at Pearson Elementary are at your service. If ever we can be of assistance to our Pearson family members and students, we are here to help. We have an open door policy; we encourage our families to become involved in every aspect of their child’s education. Reading events, health fairs, parent classes, and progress report nights, are just some of the ways our parents can be more visible and interactive in our school setting.

Pearson Elementary is “Leading the Way. We Are The Place to Be And The Place to Stay!!”

Respectfully at your service,

Melissa E. Davis
