Pearson Elementary students took part in a 3-phase coding seminar at the CEED (Center for Education and Economic Development). During the event, students took part in a variety of exercises that reinforced coding and coding related terms. To close off the seminar, students were afforded the opportunity to ask real world coders from Mission, Texas what their jobs entail. Students and staff alike left the seminar with a greater understanding of the coding world.

Pearson Elementary held its annual Hoops for Heart basketball game. At friendly students vs. staff game that benefited the Hoops for Heart program.

GirlStart kicked off its second year at Pearson Elementary! Enrollment is open to 4th and 5th grade female students. GirlStart incorporates STEM skills during weekly club meetings. One of our goals is to ignite an interest in STEM electives, majors and careers through weekly innovative and fun activities that target specific science TEKS. Our club members had an opportunity to recreate projects from this past semester and presented to parents and staff during their end of semester exhibition.

Pearson Elementary held its annual Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 11, 2016. Our terrific 3rd Graders performed for ours students, staff, community members, and our veterans in attendance. Please follow the link below for a short video of the presentation.

On November 4, 2016, Pearson Elementary held its 2nd family reading event of the school year. During the event, Easterseals presented on community programs. Thank you parents, community members, and partners in education for making this event a tremendous success!

Students at Pearson Elementary took part in a mock election today. From Pre-Kinder to 5th grade students, they all voted for their next president via www.everykidvotes.org.

The Mission High School Cheerleaders, High Flyers, Drum Line, and Football Team paid a visit to Pearson Elementary to kick off Drug Free Week. Students enjoyed music, dancing, and motivational speakers during the event. Thank you Mission High School for spending the morning with the future of MHS!
